Enrolment Procedure
Application forms are dated on the day of receipt, parents will be sent an email to confirm.Â
Â
For applications with a preferred start date within the next three months, the Nursery Manager will check availability of sessions in line with the Admissions Policy.
Â
Applications for places beyond a 3 month period will be placed on a waiting list, the list will be reviewed weekly in line with the Admissions Policy.
Â
At Little Phoenix Nursery the steps to enrol a child will begin following receipt of the formal acceptance of our offer of a place in the nursery, payment of the Acceptance Fee and Deposit:
Â
1. An Enrolment Pack will be sent containing all the essential paperwork needed for us to provide the very best care for your child. This should be returned no later than the dates specified within the Enrolment Pack.
Â
2. The Nursery Manager will contact parents to talk through the information shared, including permissions, and agree the settling-in arrangements with the option of a Home Visit.
NOTE: if any other professionals are involved with a child, parents will be made aware of how and when we will share information with them.Â
Â
3. The information provided will be added to our system and we will begin to prepare everything in the nursery to welcome and care for children, including any health care or allergy action plans.Â
Â
4. Details for funding eligibility will be checked. Once cleared, a Parental Declaration will be sent to parents, this must be returned prior to a child joining us in nursery.Â
Â
5 If a child has been cared for in another childcare setting we ask parents to request all records be transferred from the previous setting to Little Phoenix Nursery. For children aged 2 years and over this should include their two year progress check.Â
Â
7. Home Visits are optional, recognised as good practice and often welcomed. At Little Phoenix we understand the value of such visits, but we respect a family’s choice, and understand that there may be circumstances when this is not the best fit for a family.Â
Â
8. Ahead of the Home Visit and/or first settling in session, the Key Person will call to introduce themselves to begin building this vital relationship
Â
9. 1st Settling-in session, one or both parents join the Key Person
2nd Settling-in session, parents drop off their child with Key Person
3rd Settling-in session, child joins for longer session
Â
The outline offered is what we believe is the best start to nursery life, it is the minimum we ask of families. It may be adjusted to meet the needs of an individual child or family. Further settling-in sessions may be agreed to support families, and will be charged at our current rate.
Â
10. First full nursery day; our priority is spending time with your child but we recognise the trust placed in us. We will send an insight into your child’s day over lunchtime, parents can view this along with their child’s meal, sleep, and nappy routine via the Famly App. A verbal handover will be given at the end of day.  Â
Â
Note:
Following formal acceptance of a place at Little Phoenix Nursery, if a family does not complete or continue the enrolment process as outlined above, the deposit will not be returned.Â
